Planner tabs...

Thursday, November 29, 2018

Just want to make a quick post about the best way to use the sticker tabs on your new planner...

This year I decided I wanted to make mine flush with the page so the planner edge will be a little smoother, not sure yet if this will make finding things a little trickier?

As for you its totally up to you, but I would suggest that the sticker make contact with at least 1/8" of the page of each side of the paper.

Don't let Gratitude be removed from the holidays!

Tuesday, November 27, 2018
I really love Thanksgiving it is such an important holiday. It's the perfect way to begin the Christmas season, encouraging us to focus on all the blessings in our lives.  Over the last several years I have been increasingly frustrated at the way our society has stripped the gratitude from this beautiful holiday.

Here we are in 2019 and the attitude we are surrounded by is...."Can we hurry up and eat Thanksgiving dinner?  I need to get to the "black friday" sales that now start on Thursday and buy a bunch of stuff I don't really need, because it's cheap?"

I didn't go to any of the sales in store this year, and haven't for a while. However, I  am really disappointed in myself as I let the "world" distract me from a holiday that I really enjoy. I spent much of the day Thursday pondering what my kids might need, so I could do a little online shopping before all the "good stuff" was gone. I let myself feel anxious about whether or not I was forgetting something that I really needed to order, instead of just enjoying a game with my kids.

I am a pretty budget minded person as this is how I help our family, by keeping our living costs as low as possible, yet still trying to make sure we have some fun extras too. So I get the idea of trying to save money wherever we can, but I hate that we have almost been forced into this position of "saving money" when I really just want to just be focusing on the good things I am already surrounded by.

Why do we let things into our hearts and minds that we know are destructive?

Please pardon the rant but I needed to vent for just a minute....

I really hope that we will make more time for gratitude in our lives, and stop letting society make us feel like we need something more to be happy!

Please feel free to comment and share how you make time for gratitude in your holiday festivities!

2019 Bullet Journal Planner

Tuesday, November 20, 2018

I have had such a growing year, especially during the last 12 weeks when my husband and I have been able to take a class together. I was just beginning this project as we started the class. It was a wonderful growing experience, and while participating I was deeply inspired by guidance shared in that class, I quickly realized that my goal for next year should be striving for more balance in my life. The more I studied and researched on the topic, I became more certain that this was important for everyone and not just me, I am so excited to share this book with each of you. It is a limited edition so grab yours up quick before they are gone!
So here we go on this amazing journey together. This planner is not only full of planning and organizing spaces, but it is chock full of inspiration as well. An uplifting thought and challenge is shared every month, to help encourage setting short term goals that will lead you to reaching your long term goal of a balanced life. I will be sharing even more inspiring ideas each and every month right here on my blog. That's right, my personal schedule has lightened up, as well as my church commitments have been drastically reduced so I will have more time to share inspiring thoughts with each of you.

Be sure to read the introductory letter, it has some great tips for making the most of your 2019 planner.

Setting both long term and short term goals is very important throughout our lives. This page layout will help you choose 5 long term goals, and set short term goals to help reach the longer ones.

Introducing a new recipe organizing layout, it's a place for you to list your favorite recipes so that you can more easily fill out the weekly menu plan.

I'm brought back the monthly calendar, and moved the habit tracker to help you see how much progress you made over the month! Here is where you will also find an uplifting message and the monthly challenge.

I reconfigured the weekly layout to include the much requested weekly menu. I kept the fun bullet journal styling, and even though it's slightly shorter there is just as much planning space as before in a more portable package.

Some fun extra pages to keep things light.

There is a nice section towards the end of the planner, to help you create a budget and record your spending.

There is a 40 page note taking section at the end of the planner for all those extra ideas that need recording.

This was such a labor of love, and I learned so much researching along the way. I am really looking forward to the growth we will all experience in the coming year!
